Come and take part in a creative session for the Gravesham Light Festival, where participants are invited to make a large white flower sculpture, working individually or collaboratively under the guidance of artist Hannah Whittaker. These handmade flowers will later form part of a luminous garden installation, illuminated through projection mapping with glowing patterns that respond to sound - shifting and changing as visitors speak, sing, or whisper to the blooms.

The garden becomes a living organism, growing more vibrant through shared presence, creativity, and connection. The final installation will be on display at St Andrew’s Art Centre on 30th and 31st January as part of the festival programme. This welcoming participatory workshop is open to all ages and abilities, with no experience needed and all materials provided. Booking is essential.

Workshops last roughly 1.5hrs.

We aim for our workshops to be as inclusive as possible and invite everyone to attend. However, if the participant has additional needs, please contact us in advance via:artsandculture@gravesham.gov.uk so that we can make our facilitators aware.

Photography and Videography will take place at this workshop and the rest of the event on the Pier for future advertising. If we intend to take shots other than completed artwork, backs of heads or hands, then we will always ask you to complete a permission form beforehand. Should you not wish to be photographed at all, please inform the member of staff.
