Gravesend Cold War Bunker

As part of National Cold War Heritage Week enjoy a special daytime Cold War Bunker tour!

As part of National Cold War Heritage Week step beneath the surface and uncover a hidden chapter of history at the Gravesend Cold War bunker.  Once a secret command centre, this underground facility was designed to play a vital role during one of the tensest periods of the 20th century.

Our experienced volunteer guides will talk you through Civil Defence in Gravesham from WW1 through to the Cold War and guide you through the various rooms and authentic displays.

Important information:

Due to the age and design of the building, it is not accessible for wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties. Access is via 23 steep steps and there are no toilet facilities on site.
